I realize this might be a "generational" post, but it would be fun to get your participation.
I grew up with five older brothers, and money was tight, so my "new" outfits usually came from their laundry baskets. Even some dresses were hand-me-downs, courtesy of Laura D's family (and thanks to Diana, too!). Happy was the day when I got something new! I recall wearing a certain pair of new white patent leather Easter shoes for three days straight (I even slept in them) because I was so excited. I hated getting those scuffs on them, though.
So imagine my excitement when I got my brand new pair of Wonder Woman Underoos. I wore those things ALL the time, and I know many of you (Valerie) know what I'm talking about. Unfortunately, we don't have a picture of me in them (hey, I'm a modest girl!), but I know I looked just like this (on the right), but with brown hair - tan and all.
I'll have to check with my sister to see if she got Spiderman ones. In the meantime, what's one of your favorite childhood memories?

One -- but not-so-fond -- was being forced to try on some really ugly Buster Brown Sunday shoes because the white patent leather ones were all sold out in my size. If you weren't WAY YOUNGER than I am, I'd swear you bought the last pair and it's all your fault! :)
I had Wonder Woman Underoos TOO!! More proof that we are, indeed, the same. Among my favorite memories is running round our house in Connecticut in my WWUs and jumping down the stairs (as if she had the ability to fly). This is also connected to another memory of my aunt (who lived with us at the time) using a tape recorder to tape songs off of the newly created MTV. She was none too happy with me and my wonder womaning since my voice was also recorded along with The Cars on tape :)
does that blondie have a raisin in her nose???
loved your comment- yes! thanks to you i am going ape "you know what" on my blog!! i love you!!!
at 4yrs i asked my grandma for undies with purple dots. it was love at first sight. purple is still my favorite color!. when i think of childhood and underwear i think of my brother wearing my girly ones when his were all dirty and my sisters not wearing any at all and going around the block in mom's heels and on the big wheel with only shirts on top. that would not happen in our day!!!
that picture is awesome. I love your expressions.
Um, fav childhood memories...probably singing songs with my sisters. You're right, Songs for the Mormon Child are priceless.
I totally had Wonder Woman underoos too. Crazy. Why don't they have those anymore?
My memories usually involve my older brother Kevin stuffing us in something (i.e. sleeping bag) and pushing or pulling us down the stairs. If there was no sleeping bag we usually just ended up with rug burn down our backs. It's amazing I don't run away from him now . . .
looks like you had it much better. i may have had a few cute hand-me-down worthy dresses, but nothing as awesome to wear underneath.
Yes, I had those same underoos. Got the polaroid picture to prove it! My pose, however, was a bit more "America's Next Top Model."
